]]> waste-money-buy-netbook I few days ago I wrote about how if you are going to buy a netbook it is smartest to buy cheap netbooks due to a wide variety of factors, but mainly because with the hardware specifications limited by Microsoft’s licensing terms a more expensive netbook is not a better netbook, just a prettier one.

John Morris wrote in his blog about the recently launched Sony Vaio and other "luxury" netbooks.  He basically came to the conclusion that expensive netbooks are not good investments either, although he based his conclusion on the fact that they don’t sell well–at Amazon.com at least.

Still, the point is the same.  If you are going to shell out $600, $700, or a near psychotic $900 for a portable computer, you can buy a laptop with more powerful hardware without giving up very much portability. 

Besides, if you want to overpay for a computer that looks good, you should really be buying something from Apple, that’s what they specialize in.
